About Gemma Travis

I'm a 22 year old illustration student from North London. My work consists of constructing delicate collaged images, typically made from paper and found materials. I love to draw inspiration from past eras and members of my family as they are all eccentric and add flavour to my work. I am a keen reader with a huge imagination and can apply this to anything I am working on.

Work

My latest work has seen less obvious use of 'tack' and more sophisticated collages and uses of materials. I enjoy projects with a personal feel and particularly love working with text and image.

Praise

Throughout my 3 years studying at Middlesex University I have seen my work displayed and sold 3 separate times (once during each year) at Kingsgate Gallery which was a great experience and opportunity. I have also recently exhibited at the D&AD New Blood exhibition where I received some lovely attention.
